Fall Family Photos

We had family photos taken last week, the first time since #1 was about 18 months old.  Sweet friends of ours gifted the session to us and we are so, so grateful to them!

Here are our pictures.  Not bad considering #3 was up all night with the stomach flu and #4 threw up on #2's head during one of our family shots.  Oh the joys of parenting many small children!  :)

Fall 2011: Take One

We went out with the cousins last night and took each other's family pictures.  For us it was a dress rehearsal for our professional shoot in a month.  T's camera holds the family photos, but here are some candids that Buzz and I captured during the evening.  Will post more photos when I get them.

How To Remove Vaseline From Your Child's Hair

 1.  Freak out because you find your child covered from head to toe in a thick layer of vaseline.

2.  Bathe said child in an attempt to remove vaseline.

3.  Realize that your child's hair is not still wet, it is a giant grease ball.

4.  Use good ol' Google to find this solution:

5.  Coat child's hair with olive oil (thank you, Costco, for the ample supply).

6.  Massage into hair.

7.  Add liquid dish soap to the mix.

(Isn't the black eye precious?)

8.  Rub.  I'd say lather, but it doesn't really.  Play a little.  It's unlike any texture you've ever felt.

9.  Rinse.  Watch the bath water fill immediately with petroleum clouds.

I'll have to repeat the process again tomorrow, but for now her hair is MUCH better.

I'm not so sure about the carpets, we'll have to see how those look in the morning when they've had a chance to dry a bit (substituted rubbing alcohol for the olive oil on those).

Sheesh.  This kid...
