Word Count

Sunny's 18 month checkup is coming this next week. I look forward to these visits, but one question always throws me off guard: "How many words would you say she has?" Does any parent really keep a count after about ten or so? In an attempt to be able to accurately answer this, I'm leaving this page open throughout the day to collect her words as she says them and as I remember them.
  1. Hello (her first real word other than Mama and Daddy)
  2. Mama
  3. Daddy
  4. (Sparkle's real name)
  5. (Sunny's real name)
  6. Hi
  7. Bye - bye
  8. All Done (does this count as one or two?)
  9. Bites
  10. Snack
  11. More
  12. Milk
  13. Juice
  14. Num-nums (as in food - not sure if that counts)
  15. Yes
  16. No
  17. Uh-huh! (does that count? It's really cute!)
  18. Doggy (along with the appropriate sound effects)
  19. Kitty
  20. Ni-night
  21. Hug
  22. Up
  23. Please
  24. Thank you
  25. Let's...
  26. ...Go (yet's go)
  27. Look (yook)
  28. Get it
  29. Raf-fe (her pet giraffe's name)
  30. Book
  31. Pretty
  32. Nose
  33. Socks
  34. Shoes
  35. Diaper
  36. Cracker
  37. Yummy
  38. Minute (as in "just a minute")
  39. Love you
  40. Bless you (after we sneeze or cough)
  41. Hat
  42. Off
  43. That
  44. Cheese
  45. Nice
  46. Dress
  47. Slide
That's about all I've got at this point. More are added every day, it seems. It's wonderful to hear Sunny's vocabulary blossom and get to know our little lady better every day!
