Welcome Spring!

We spent the day just hangin' out in the beautiful spring weather with friends, old and new.  My soul is happy... and my face is fried.  For the record, I burn just as easily in the midwestern sun as I did in the mountains.
More pictures tomorrow... maybe.  It's supposed to rain for the next couple of days, so I should have time to post.  Or I might finally unpack from our trip to Utah.  We'll see.  :)

Worms!

Sparkle made an exciting discovery today on her way to the back door after school.
Can you see them?  I'll get you a closer shot...
We called the cousins over to show off our find.
Funny enough, the girls dove right in.
The boy thought about it,
but decided to try a stick first.
Eventually TJ gave him hers so that he wouldn't have to get wet.
Oh how I love this girl of mine!
How many princesses do you know that will get down and dirty with a handful of worms?!

Daddy's Girls

Tonight is our church's annual father daughter dance.

Much fuss was made over curling golden locks...
...dressing in their best...
...and adorning tiny arms with delicate flowers.
May each of our little ladies be ever aware...
...of how very much they are dearly loved...
...by both their earthly...
...and heavenly father.

Sparkle brought home her school notebook last week.  She's been drawing in it faithfully during her free time all year. There were many drawings of flowers and rainbows and hearts... her usual.  But there were also unexpected drawings.  Drawings that filled my heart with joy to know that my little lady was contemplating such things during her school day.  Things like Jesus dying for our sins:
Baptism:
And holding hands with God:
And then there was this:
(A bloody monster, and a pretty darn good one at that!)

Innocent as her drawing was, seeing it reminded me that ours is no longer the only influence on her budding mind.  What a great reminder to be in daily prayer not only for the souls of my little ladies, but for their hearts and minds as well.

I'm not sure I'm ready to step into this next realm of parenting.

Couldn't have said it better myself...

Sparkle:

"We have two princesses.  We should get a servant!

Well... I guess the Queen is the servant."

Play Place

Five months old already.  My, how time does fly!

Thank you, sweet Sevvy, for reminding me that the dirty clothes can wait...

...there are far more important uses for my laundry basket.

Loving you,
Mama
