Call me crazy...

... but it would seem that having a fourth child has just about killed any blogging ambitions that I might have once had.  Oh well... I don't even have that much time to feel bad about it!

Back on December 10th, we welcomed Joseph Samuel into the world.  Here is his story, feel free to scroll down if you don't like reading about childbirth:

I had been to the hospital twice over the previous two weeks thinking that I was in labor.  Both times I was contracting every two minutes rather uncomfortably, but was sent home each time.  The day that Joseph was born, I woke up at two o'clock in the morning contracting every 7-9 minutes.  Long story short, my contractions stayed like that all day and were only every 3 minutes apart for about an hour before I got to the hospital and was told that I was dilated to 8cm.  I called Buzz right away and told him to come ASAP (he was on call at the hospital downtown, about 20 minutes away without traffic) and the nurses started looking for an IV site.  By the time they got it started (I'm not an easy poke), I was complete and John had made it to my bedside.  What happened then is what John jokingly describes as, "10 minutes of crying followed by 8 minutes of pushing," before Joseph entered the world.  The crying was because I couldn't have any pain medicine and was scared of delivering naturally.  The doctor assured me that as soon as she broke my water it would be over quickly and she was right.  Joseph splashed into the world (Is that gross?  Sorry...) sometime around 8 o'clock (see... fourth child, I don't even remember and I'm too tired to go look for the exact time!) in the evening.  He weighed 6lbs, 14oz and was 20.5 inches long.  Here are some pictures from the night he was born.

First picture with mom and dad:
I still can't get over how big our family looks in this picture!
Sweet Tammy, who drove me to the hospital and gently talked me through each contraction:

A little Christmas fun once we got home:
 Joseph at one month...
 ...at two months...
...and this one was taken today, just a week shy of being three months old.  My, how time flies!
Sevvy has changed a lot too:
Looking a lot less like a baby these days.
And here's the most recent picture that I have of the big girls.  I really have no idea why they built the snowman on their table that belongs in the house.  Daddy was in charge that day.  :)
Okay, that's all for now.  Hopefully that catches us up a little and we can start fresh from here?  We'll see.  Take care, all!
